BUSY BUSY BUSY SHOULDA POSTED THIS SOONER TO YOU
I HAVE SEVERAL PICS IN THE BEGINNING OF THE TORQUE ARM INFO
PIC
1) MINE/ HARD TO SEE IT WITH THE SKID PLATE ON (NOTE: MY RUBBER DEALEE IS RIPPED UPWARD/ WHAT'S LEFT IS STILL A CUSHION! WILL FIX IT SOON
NOTICE THE TRANSMISSION MOUNT IS NOT CENTERED ON THE TRANNY, IT IS INTENTIONALLY SHIFTED TOWARDS THE PASSENGER SIDE
2) THIS IS A "TYPICAL" DIAGRAM, THE RUBBER STUFF AT THE BOTTOM OF THE STUD IS UNNECESSARY, THE STUD IS NORMALLY BOLTED DOWN HARD TO THE SKID PLATE
3/ 4) I FOUND THESE ON THE NET, BETTER PICS, (SEE THE TRANNY MOUNT?)
FROM WHAT YOU SAY ABOUT THE GEAR SHIFT STICK SMACKING THE PLATE IN THE FLOOR. GUESSING YOU HAVE A DENT FOR "FORWARD" AND AN OPPOSITE ONE FOR "REVERSE".
WITHOUT EYES ON IT, YOUR MOTOR MOUNTS/ TRANNY MOUNT/ AND TORQUE ARM STUFF MAY ALL NEED REPLACING, SEE IF YOUR TRANNY MOUNT IS "OFFSET" AND IF YOUR TORQUE ARM AND COMPONENTS EVEN EXIST!
PREVIOUS OWNERS MAY HAVE TOOK STUFF OUT.
BAD!
BAD!
PREVIOUS OWNERS!
WHEN THE RUBBER STUFF GETS OLD, IT WILL ALLOW MOVEMENT THAT SHOULDN'T BE!
YES, THE STICK TORQUES A LITTLE WHEN THE DRIVE TRAIN MOVES, BUT IT SHOULD BE SLIGHT. WITHOUT GETTING REAL TECHNICAL, I'D SAY MINE MAY MOVE AN INCH OR SO. IT SHOULD NOT JERK YOUR ARM TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE JEEP!
OK
MY PICS HERE ARE TAKING UP ROOM
I'LL POST MY DRIVEWAY PAINTING ON NEXT POST
