engine size

I have a 1976 cj5 jeep. I wonder how I can tell what size my engine is. Is there some kind of number on the engine that I can go by? The title doesn't have any thing about engine size. I know it's either a 232 or 258.

If the engine is original

If the 7th digit of your VIN is :

A = 258 1 bbl

C = 258 2 bbl

E = 232 1 bbl

H = 304 2 bbl

Come On, Gotta do better than that!

I have answered a lot of the CJ 5 and 7 Questions for the last 2 years here (investigate CJ 5 and 7 forums, good info there too!)
