Vehicle starts and immediately stalls intermittently

There has not been a "no run condition". Its just been, vehicle starts for two seconds, then stalls but fires right up on next crank. Almost like a fuel pressure/volume issue. Which I am going to check. I realize Pass-lock is a possibility, but at this point I am not getting any security lights. I have no issues diagnosing a crank, no start situation. Been through a million of those, this is just the first time I have ever had any possible pass-lock issues. I always start with basics, ie fuel pressure, spark etc. If something leads me in the direction of a security problem, that is different. Then I will go that way. Its just a system I have not had experience or problems with in the past. Plus the car has not died on me yet, it does start on second crank and run fine. Does not stall while driving at all, in fact it runs very well besides this slight starting problem. I have seen shorted cam sensors cause this problem without setting any TDC's. Will post what I find.

It could be a problem with the IAC like is it running slow. I have seen where a weak IAC will cause the problem you are describing.

Could be, but it idles fine and there are no problems once its running, plus the stall condition only happens once and awhile. I'm buying to new scantool and some other gear. So I'm going to just start testing everything, ive never graphed an IAC, I should just be looking for it to close as the throttle opens correct? Or is there a better test for it? This car is just getting old and needs some tlc.

It will open the idle air port, look at the plunger of the valve. It should move quickly in and out when the key in turned on.

I don't advise doing that with the IAC removed. It will over extend and you'll be buying a new IAC.

I have seen someone over extend and IAC before like that, that's why I was thinking of graphing it to see the voltage reading atleast. It has not had an idling problem, I still think its going to end up being a fuel pressure problem, if I ever get time to work on the thing. Of course it got to be fixed before I drive it for 12hours to NC. I think with my new scan tool I can watch live data of idle control. But I did see a mechanic pull the plunger out of the IAC, my jaw dropped, and we had the pleasure of buying a new one when the car actually needed a new intake gasket.

Of course it was the parts guy that pulled the IAC apart, thinking he knew what he was doing. Ruined the whole thing

If I throw a vacuum gauge on this thing I should have around 12psi I believe at idle? Or was it more, cant remember. Going to check for a vacuum leak as well. I would think something would set a code by now, but nothing so far. Also another funny thing, the last time it set a code, it couldn't read any freeze frame data. I thought that was alittle suspicious
