My car will not start or turn over sometimes and its happen more than usual now that it is hot outside. I put the key in and have to move it up & down and turn the key hard for it to eventually start or put my foot on the brakes turn the key on shift the gears all the way down and back to park then turn the key hard to start it. Its like the key is not connecting with what ever it needs to start. The key is also hot when I take it out from trying to start it. It never cut off once I get it started or while I am driving. Please help me if you can it has been doing this for over a year and it is getting worse now that it is summer time versus wintertime.I have new starter, battery, and alternator, and play neutral switch. Could It be something with the ignition switch or key tumbler? Will this be expensive to fix?

Any Advice What Can Be The Problem.
Hey When Trying To Start My Car It Wants To Turn Over. Sometimes It Does. But Then Dies Out Quickly. I Was Told Might Be The Fuel Pump. Changed It. Still Problem Occurs. Also When Trying To Start Car. Car Kinda Makes A Low Pitch Wining Noise.

Not Sure. But Does This Have Something To Do With The Timing Belt Or Water Pump. Any Advice What Could Be The Reasons. Or Steps To Figuring Out My Problem. Thanks

Check what's missing do below

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/car-cranks-but-wont-start

Get a helper disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine atleast 3/16 away from ground-have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, Do you hear the fuel pump come On when you turn key on? If not check fuel pump fuse and fuel pump relay if okay-check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, coil's resistances, cap and rotor, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors and computer Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it and keep testing

When you say it wont start, you mean it wont crank? Or it will crank just not turn over?

If it will crank and not turn over I would be checking and comparing the fuel pressure and spark when it will start up to when it wont start and see if either is lacking.

P0335 and P0340 have been replaced along with entire timing assembly, Service Engine keeps coming on and when scanned shows these 2 codes. Car idles poorly and rough start when warmed up. Mitsubishi Dealer in Westboro, MA could not find the problem.

Re-scan for codes.

Here is a link to an article from this site that features written step by step instructions and pictures explaining how to do the scan yourself. Also, I have included a link to our YouTube channel with a how to video on code scanning.

This is applicable even if your check engine light is not on.

Most scanners are inexpensive to purchase, you can purchase one online from sites like Amazon.com

https://youtu.be/YV3TRZwer8k

Once you have the codes please get back to us with the code number(s) so that we can further assist you. We are always happy to help.

Thank you for visiting 2CarPros.com.
