I was driving down a highway when my ac belt broke. My car shut off and would not start back up. It would turn over but would not start back up. We came back the next day to take a look at it. The lower timing belt cover was tore up by the belt. So we decided to check the timing. The timing was fine. We replaced the crankshaft sensor. We have spark and fuel. Checked fuses and relays, all good. What else could it be. It turns over but will not start. We check all around the area to make sure nothing might of been knocked lose by the belt breaking. Lost of what to look for next

When belt cover is damaged, the debrid could get between the ting belt and cause it to skip tooth. You mentioned checking the timing and was fine, was the cam and crank timing checked?

If the crank and cam markings for the timing belt are all correct and engine has not been started for extended periods, try a wet compression test. If compression increases, retry starting after installing spark plugs.
