Hey. I was wondering if you could probably help out. I have an 03galant. Idont know why. But it wont start. Has full battery. I took it in a shop they told me its probably an ecu problem. But they dont know for sure. They tried to diagnose the ecu. But it didnt respond back. Would you know why. Nd he said he looked at it. Said all the wires nd neutrals were good. I sent the ecu else where. Same problem could not fix. The cars been sitting had a fully charged battery tried to start engine tried to roarr but instead died again. Still wont start.

Any advice.

You sure its not an anti-theft issue?

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/car-cranks-but-wont-start

Get a helper disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine atleast 3/16 away from ground-have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, Do you hear the fuel pump come On when you turn key on? If not check fuel pump fuse and fuel pump relay if okay-check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, coil's resistances, cap and rotor, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors and computer Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it and keep testing

If both fuel and spark is present-check the valve and ignition timing, this will lead you to problems

with compression and valves opening and closing at the wrong time/broken or jumped timing

belt/chain.

You need spark, fuel, compression, and correct timing. What have you checked so far, and what were the results? It would take an hour to type all the possible things that can cause a no-start condition.

Last week my car wouldn't start. I took the battery to the auto parts store to have it tested and they said the battery was bad so I bought a new battery. The next morning, again, the car would not start. I got a jump and went back to the auto parts store and they said the alternator was bad. My son replaced the alternator for me. Apparently neither of those were the issue because my car still won't start and nobody seems to be able to figure out why. Any suggestions where or what to check? Thank you for any help you can give me.

Does the battery die over night? Have you checked for electrical draws?

No, it pretty instant. Even when I get a jump, it dies almost immediately.

You need to check things. Anything that can kill a car battery that fast, has to be drawing a ton of power which would create heat. Go to our homepage under the DIY section and find the directions for checking for an electrical draw. See if there is one. If there is, remove one fuse at a time until the draw stops. Let me know what you find.

Ok. My brother was driving my 03 galant. He didnt know but instead of havin it in drive. He had it in the 3. Then switched while still driving when we came to a stop light the car just died. Tried to start it backk up nothing. When it did start it started but you need to keep the engine running or else it just shuts off out again. Every time I take my foot off the gas pedal and stop revving it itll die and not try to start back for a while. Do you know what can possibly be wrong.
