I have a 1997 isuzu rodeo with over 200,000 miles its a 6 cilinder 2wheel drive. Its not geting gas into the engine we replaced the fuel filter and it still wont start how difficult will it be for me to drop the gas tank and try to replace the fuel pump myself? And how expensive? If I cant do it the roughtly how much on average to take it to a mechanic?

Its not terribly hard if you have some spare time a dry area and means of getting the car off the ground a bit. The only problems you might run into is getting the locking ring off the sending unit but also make sure you disconnect all hoses prior to dropping the tank to make sure you dont pinch and puncture one. Good luck :)

ps. Patience is key when working with the gas tank not only because of the obvious reasons but just about every thing involved costs a good chunk of change.
