1988 Ford Ranger wont fire after warm

This truck starts and runs good you can drive it 2 miles or 20 and it runs good until you turn it off then it will not start it just turns over it has fuel but no fire. When you let it cool for a couple of hours it starts just fine again. You can shut it off and start as many times as you want until it warms up it runs at normal operating temp while driving

Sounds like one of 2 things it could be. One being control module on distributor. The other may be coil its self. Sounds as if one of those is bad and getting hot, and shutting down spark
