Will do Roy. I do have a new cam positioning sensor I will install it Friday or Saturday. Getting spark so crank sensor should be good. I also want to pull a fuel sample as well.

I would suspect a crank sensor on this one.

It was the oil pressure switch that didn't give me spark all these sensors work together. But now engine don't idle and shuts off. The cam swap I didn't degree it. But timing mark is dot to dot. Worst of all white smoke came out of the intake?

Oil pressure sensor has no effect on it. That tells me you have a harness issue.

Did you check the cam retard degrees?

I don't know how to check that. Is it with the cam card or degree wheel?

No, the distributor is a cam sensor. The cam and crank sensor need to be in sync. There is a spec that needs to be adjusted.

You can check it with a scan tool. That is the only way it can be checked.

No I haven't, but I do have pressure even while cranking. I did buy a idle control valve but haven't installed it yet.

Hey Roy, finally found time to work on truck, I checked compression on all 8 cylinders and this is what I got. Cylinders, 2, 4, 6, 5, read 210psi, cylinders. 1, 3, 7, and 8 read 205 psi. I also checked spark at all eight plugs I have good spark at all eight. I did discover cylinder #3 seem to me like it was firing continuously, ( no gap in spark). I hooked a timing light to the #3 wire and it was almost a steady light little to no strobe. Hope I explained that well enough for you to understand me. I am guessing a bad distributor cap. What do you think. I have not replaced cam sensor yet either, ran out of day light today. Let me know your thoughts please. Thanks.

Okay, if you spray starter fluid in the air filter, will it start and stall?

No it will not. I do know it is getting fuel I have pulled upper peluim and visually confirmed injector pulse and had helper crank engine to see if each injector was spraying fuel.

Hello Roy, Just wanted to update you on my truck issue. As I mention #3 plug was continuously firing. Done a little research and came across a post with similar symptoms. They said they unplugged the # 3 wire and truck started right up. So I gave that a try today, sure enough it fired right up. Turns out it was the distributor cap. Which I had swapped but after I pulled the distributor to check it for damage. Long story short, I installed it 180 degrees out which still had the same issue. Anyway I swapped caps again just to check putting bad one back on and I also reset distributor. Anyway I got it sorted out and truck is running fine, I will have to scan it for correct cam retard but it has to be pretty close, running good and no codes. Thanks for your help.
