My trruck will not start cold unless fuel is applied through the intake. After that it runs fine.

Yes I can hear the fuel pump making a noise, but does that mean it's working properly. The truck runs good after I pour gas in the intake to get it started. Also the truck will surge when operating at a steady speed. Any idea what the fuel line pressure should be? I will check that this weekend. Thanks

Thank you for your help. I'm about 99% sure it is the fuel pump. I will replace it this weekend and let you know. Thanks again. Will

It was a combination of fuel pump and spark plug wires. Thank you rasmataz for your insight. You were correct about the fuel pump. It was making a noise but not the right kind of noise. Thanks again.
