Multiple issues after battery cables were hooked up incorrectly

If it is a line pressure issue what would cause that? The guy reversing the polarities. The transmission shop messing up during the overhaul. Me switching the cooler. I called them and they said my warranty is voided because of the stuff I did to the engine which doesn’t make any sense to me. And my valves are clacking very loud, so I also called the shop that rebuilt my heads and they said there’s no warranty, so I asked for a receipt, and they said there’s no receipt because they didn’t charge me taxes because they were trying to “help me out” price wise. I swear I’m never letting anyone touch my car again. Every shop I’ve been to is full of crooked people who only care about money. This is insane. I am just going to have to get a bus pass or something and save up to get a transmission overhaul kit and an engine overhaul kit and start over but do it 100% by myself this time instead of having a shop build my heads and hone my block and having a shop rebuild my transmission. I will do it all by myself this time. It’ll probably take me another year and a lot more money. Crazy my car isn’t even worth $2,000.00 online and I’ve already put more than that in for everything I’ve done to it.

Ariana,

Don't look at book values for your vehicle. The market is so out of control, it is likely more than you think.

As far as line pressure, there is a line pressure solenoid (pressure regulating solenoid.) I may be wrong, but I feel that is where the issue is coming from. Were you able to perform the pressure testing?

If you want to see what the part looks like, the OEM part number is XL2Z7G383AA.

And no, I don't feel this was caused by you. Also, the valve noise doesn't make sense. Can you record it and upload it for me to hear? The valve lash is controlled by oil pressure. Are you having issues with pressure?

I'm about ready to take a 3,000-mile trip. LOL

Let me know. I am so sorry I haven't been of more help.

Yes, and every time I try fluid spews out of the fitting the second, I turn the car on. The noise from my head sounds like lifter tick and something else clacking. It also weirdly sounds like it’s low on oil but it’s not. I have barely driven it since the rebuild so it shouldn’t be making noise already. I sent a video of it right before I sent the pics of those codes. It’s on the previous page, I believe. Lol, thank you. It’s crazy how someone in another state is trying so hard to help me when I can’t even get someone close by to answer a phone call. You said you’re 3,000 miles away, yet you’ve have helped me so much already when I can't even get someone on my street to hold a wrench on the tensioner while I put the belt on, lol. I am going to upload a picture of something that looked strange to me when I got my heads back. Maybe it is what's causing the noise. The rest of them looked normal, but this one looked weird. I showed the machine shop and they said it was fine, but I’ve learned I can’t trust anyone to take responsibility for their mistakes so I’m not sure if they were telling the truth or not.

Ariana,

I found the video. It sounds louder on the driver's side but not bad. I do hear a tick. As far as the pic above, what is hanging down at the top of the valve? Were any of the others like that as well? I wouldn't think that is a valve guide. Is that cylinder head on the driver's side?
It's hard for me to tell for sure. Do you remember if it was metal?

As far as no one is willing to help, that is really depressing to hear. I think you live in the wrong place. LOL, I'm near Pittsburgh. People are almost always ready to help others. Well, most are. Things seem to be changing though. I really worry about the state of the world and our country at this time. And as far as wanting to help, it's because you are willing to do it. Not many people have your work ethic anymore and willingness to try. Respect that.

Let me know about what I circled in the pic below. Is that what you are referring to?

Let me know and take care. I hope you are relaxing tonight.

No that was the only one like that. I don’t remember which side it was, and I don’t know what it is. They said it was just paint. I’m not sure but maybe I can find a better picture. And yes, I’m for sure in the wrong place or perhaps just haven’t met the right people. And no relaxing for me. Where I live, I trade rent for fixing the place up, so I always have to work on the house when I’m not working on the car. I Just finished adding bricks and a concrete walkway to the front porch now I’m working on adding footers to the wooden posts. Just used my car jack as a post jack, lol.

I don’t see a picture with your response so I’m not sure what you circled, lol.

I forgot to add the pic. Ugh!

Let me know if that is what you were referring to. As far as the masonry work is concerned, you do it all. My father was a stonemason. He taught me before he passed, so when I built my house, I dug over 100 tons of stone from the ridges, loaded the truck, cleaned it, and then put it on the house. Like you, I have to do a lot of things myself. I built the house myself. I'm a lot like you. I think that's why I want to help so much.

You take care.

Yes, that’s it.

What should I do about the line pressure test? It just leaks out the second the car starts so I haven’t even been able to do it.

Wow, that’s awesome! I can’t even fathom doing that alone, talk about work ethic! I’d love to build my own house one day. Honestly, I’m glad things don’t come easy and that I have to do the majority of it for myself, by myself because someday my stability won't depend on anyone. My stability will only depend on me. I won’t have to go without because I can create. I won’t have to buy new ones when I can fix it. I won't have to depend on anyone, but I will be dependable to everyone. Like you, I’d like to pay it forward and help with my experiences.

Hi,

I hope you are enjoying your Saturday and are not working. LOL As far as the line pressure test, I'm questioning if there is an O-ring or something missing on the connector. Does it fit tightly? Did you rent the tester? If you did, inspect it to make sure someone didn't damage it before you got it.

Let me know.

No, I bought it. I forgot that my overdrive switch doesn’t work either. That would be my solenoid, right? So maybe when he fried the PCM he ruined the solenoid too. That’s weird though because the maxi fuse didn’t blow.

Ariana,

I need to ask a favor. Could you start a new thread specific to the overdrive issue? I need to focus on that one separately because they like us to keep the threads specific to one topic, so they are helpful to others.

As far as the maxi fuse is concerned, that is a heavy gauge fuse. It is possible that it wouldn't have failed.

I hope you understand about starting a new thread. This one is 5 pages and it's a matter of time until something is said. LOL

I will watch for your new question. Here is the link to start a new question. Just copy and paste your answer from above.

Let me know and I hope you understand.

Take care,

Joe

Once again, all for nothing. My engine just stands just broke and my engine fell to the concrete floor. I’m pretty sure it’s done. Coolant and oil coming out of it and everything. Things keep going wrong and I keep getting knocked down only to get right back up, but I think I will stay down this time. Thanks for the help, Joe.

Ariana,

It's nice to hear from you again, but not for these reasons.

First, nothing can keep you down. Where are the leaks coming from? How far did it fall? If it was on an engine stand, I suspect the front of the engine fell first.

Let me know.

I emailed you a couple of times, but never heard back. It's leaking from the heads. I don’t know where else it’s leaking from because honestly, I haven’t even picked it up. I can’t bring myself to look at it, so I haven’t been back to where it fell since it happened earlier today. So, it’s still sitting where it fell.

When you have a chance, check where the leaks are coming from. I will watch for your reply.

Take care,
