I have an 89 camaro, the engine was replaced with a new one about 2 years ago. It now has about 31,000 miles on it. The problem is it cranks but wont start, it is getting fuel to the T.B.I. & It seems to be getting spark. The spark doesn't seem right, it sparks every 3 to 4 seconds apart. The fuel injectors were replaced about 3 weeks ago. The engine is a 305 small block, it has many high performance parts inside the engine. Also the transmission doesn't want to move when in drive, the fluid is at the full line. But after a couple of minutes in drive the trans will engage hard into gear. It will move but it doesn't shift out of second gear, and the shift out of first gear is at a far interval. It never gets into third gear. The trans does have a leak, but the fluid has been maintained. Any and all help is appreciated, Thanx, Robert

The spark issue is possible coil, or ignition module. Module can be tested at many autoparts stores for free.

The shifting issue is most likely a "kick down" cable. This connects to throttle body cam and then to trans. It may be broken/binding.
This cable controls hydraulic pressure in trans and if broke, trans will not have enough pressure to shift.
