Wont start and cannot put into any gear

In most newer vehicles with automatics there are shift interlocks that will prevent you from moving the shifter unless you have a good battery and step on the brake first.
If the vehicle has a security system and the key is the wrong one or cannot be read, it will not allow the interlock to release as well. That is to prevent a thief from just shifting into neutral and towing the car to a better location.

Try the reset above. If it does not work, and you have tried all the keys you have and none work. It could be a failed key reader, failed control module or bad wiring.
