Hi,

Are you getting fuel to the engine? Also, have you checked for spark? Since it nearly starts with starting fluid, it sounds like fuel isn't getting into the engine.

Do me a favor. Check to see if there is spark to the plugs. Here is a link that shows how to test. I need to know this to determine which direction to go.

Also, if you are questioning if it is an anti-theft issue, try this. Turn the key to the run position and allow it to stay there for approximately 10 minutes. See if the theft light turns off and if it will then start.

Additionally, please let me know the engine size and if it is 4wd.

Take care,

Joe

It is a 5.7L v8 Vortec. I have already also tried turning the key for anti-theft to see if that would help but nothing. I have even opened the ignition switch cleaned contacts and nothing.

Have you checked to see if there is spark and fuel to the engine? Also, have you tried scanning the computer system to see if there are diagnostic trouble codes?

Let me know about the spark and fuel. That will help direct me.

Take care and Merry Christmas,

Joe
