My car listed above SE model does not have a dipstick to check the transmission fluid. Does that mean I don't have to add or have the fluid change?

Hi Chyanne,

Your cars, like many modern cars doesn’t have a transmission dipsticks, the transmission is filled with a predetermined volume of oil and there is no need to do and checks unless you have developed a leak, depending on the transmission fitted to your car, there are can be different methods of doing a volume check. Normally there is a fill port and a spill port, when you fill the transmission you add oil through the fill port and allow a little oil to start to drain from the spill port, this indicates that the transmission is filled. Some transmission only use a predetermined total refill volume and some require the transmission to be checked at a specific temperature, which is monitored with a scan tool that has this specific feature. If your question is just of a general inquiry nature I hope this clears thing up for you. If you require to do any maintenance please advise your vehicles details preferably the 17 digit VIN for further advice.

Thank you for using 2CarPros.

I was planning to have the oil change and maybe the plugs. I guess I would get a warning light if transmission fluid was low. I will have the tech check for leaks. Thank you for your help.
