My car started shifting kinda hard last night, and this morning on my way into work, the RPM's went into the red which is 7000RPM's and its as if it didn't want to shift, it finally jerked into the next gear and at 60mph my RPM's were 4200, I tried shifting into neutral, to slow the RPM's down it didn't work, The one other thing I noticed was I hit my overdrive button just to make sure it was on and when I hit the button I turned it off and then turned it back on, now it wont turn off, during the episodes this morning, got to work and checked my transmission fluid and it was fine. What could be causing this issue and what can I do to fix it?

It sounds like you either have a bad shift solenoid or the trans control module (TCM) is going bad. You need to have that scanned with a computer for transmissions to check it.
