Truck running fine on Friday, Saturday drove 2 miles herd a noise like something broke but still drove. Exited freeway and pulled in to parking lot. Went into store and came out and truck would not start. Replaced battery and checked fuses. Engine turns but won't start. Sounds like starter not engaging. Got under truck and had daughter try and start and saw sparks come from stater. Towed truck to shop and mechanic said no water in radiator any Idea on whats wrong? Could it be a ceased engine or cracked head.

Hi wsofka,

Only further diagnosis would tell you how bad the situation is.

Cracked head, seized engines both possible when you keep your eyes on the road and forget the meters.

When you sense anything wrong, the first thing to do is look at the meters and indicators lights, might have lessened or prevent major damages.

Hard luck.

Hi wsofka,

If the timing chain had broken, it could cause a lot of damages. It could damage the valves, casing, sump and many more parts nearby.

It can be considered a major job. Just hope there is minimal damage. Extend of job depends on the damage.
