Hi, I have a 90 Camry that doesn't want to run well in the rain. Has a tough time starting, then dies at intersections and when driving slowly, just as you go to accelerate. Sometimes will run fine. Fuel filter has been replaced, and ignition wires were replaced earlier in the year. It has been suggested that a new coil (in the distributor) may be required, but nothing definitive. Any suggestions would be very helpful, thanks!

Had similar problem, different vehicle. Problem was that moisture was getting inside the distributer cap through a crack. Really. When it rained car would do same thing. I replaced the cap, problem went bye-bye. Not saying this will be same solution, but you never know. Look at the Distributor cap for cracks, chips/broken/missing pieces at the bottom where it "sits" on the distributor, make sure the cap is properly seated.
