I rebuilt the engine primed hydraulic lifter and started the engine it ran for an hour and then shut off. Would not restart. On removing the cam housing found number one hydraulic housing broken. Then I got another cylinder head and fitted to engine started does the same. I have even changed the hydraulic lifters the car started and shut off. No compression as before but not broken any thing. Please help it is an Isuzu with C20 NE engine.

Welcome to 2CarPros.

If the engine has no compression and the valves are closing, it has to be out of time. Recheck timing and make sure tensioners are tight and in good condition.

Let me know. Also, for some reason this model isn't listed in any of my manuals. Is the model year correct and the engine size?

Take care,
Joe
