I just replaced combination switch and new clock spring 96 camry. Airbag light was not on prior. Now is on all the time. Eveything is connected, code 14 is bad clock spring, but horn and cruise work. I'm having a hard time accepting this is true problem. Assembly from toyota dealer special order oem. Other ideas?

Hey BUS933S,

Try to clear the airbag codes first. If the light stays on it sounds like you got a bad clock spring from the dealer which is common on those parts. The problem is the mechanics int he back break them becasue they are fragile and them turn them back in. Then an unsuspecting customer (you) purchases the part and installs it.

Please remove the part and turn it in as defective.

Let me know what happens

Best, Ken

Hi upatel9750,

If you had turned on the ignition switch without reconnecting all the wires, you need to reset it.

If not you need to get the error code to find out which component is faulty.

If you had removed the steering wheel, you could have damaged the wire coil due to improper installation.

I changed the instrument cluster in my car because of bad hot/cold indicator problem that fixed it, but now my air bag light is on.

Hello,

Did the car you got the cluster from have airbags? If not this would be the reason.

Please let us know

Cheers, Ken

Don't really know, but I tried this paper clip theory I read about on google and I used the tc and the ab under the passenger side under the hood to a ground and with the tc the airbag blinks 4 times stops and then blinks once and it repeats itself. This theory on google said it would reset it but did not.

Yep, Im going with the cluster not being compatible with your car. If you plug the old one back in does the light go out?
