No click so nothing. Fuel pump engages fuses good fuel gets to motor doesn't do anything in park or neutral. Try cranking repeatedly and it drains the battery but after a few minutes the lights are bright, and the horn is loud. Pulled steering column apart found 2 small white wires on top of ignition switch one wire was broken could this be it?

Hi,

I attached the wiring schematic below for the starter circuit. Note that several different fuses should be checked. Additionally, the white wires you referred to aren't shown in this circuit. As far as checking the fuses, it is especially important to confirm they have power to and from them, especially the ones under the dash of the vehicle.

Here is a link that explains how that is done:

Next, if all fuses test good and have power, then check the starter relay. If there is a different relay that has the same part number, switch them. If there isn't one, here is a link that explains how to test a relay:

If that makes no difference, I need you to see if there is power at the starter motor. At the starter, there will be a smaller gauge purple wire. That wire should only have power when the key is in the start position, so you will need a helper to turn the key. If there is power, the starter is likely bad. If there is no power, let me know and we'll work backward to see where power is lost.

Take care,

Joe

See pics below. I also included fuse pics of fuse locations.
