Replaced fan clutch. Now getting I/M readiness codes showing no catalytic converter, no evap, no 02's. Still low power, just not as bad, maybe the same. Help

Hi,

Can you let me know what codes you are getting? The readiness codes indicate a monitors have or have not completed a drive cycle for emission testing.

Let me know. Also, did this all start when the fan clutch was replaced?

Let me know.

Greetings sir,

Thank you for getting back to me. I have the vehicle listed above extended LT. I'm the single owner. Have 160 some thousand miles. In the last couple days have had no power off the line. Fan sounds like a jet engine.

Stop by the Steeler ship, AKA; dealership.

Talk to my service rep of 15 years told me most likely clutch fan $800.00. Went to Napa bought $200.00 clutch fan.

Removed and reinstalled new fan. Did not really help the no power situation at low speeds. Now getting error messages on on basic scan tool. It states it cannot find air, EVP, O2's, catalytic converter.

I did remove the negative from the battery and you know that it will take some cycles to reset them. But still have low power when accelerating from stop or Trying to go up hill.

Once I reach 45-50 it seems to runs okay. I do not think it cycled enough to clean I/M readiness connections fails. I think I need an actual PCM Update from the dealership.

Re-flashing is what I am leaning towards based upon additional research. Does this make any sense? I am a new DIY type. Hate to waste money for something that I can fix.

Sorry, west coast comment was based on website timestamp. Sorry, it is the site timestamp, not yours. Did not mean to label you in anyway. :)

Hi,

No, actually I'm near Pittsburgh. As far as the power loss, have you checked things such as if a partial catalytic converter could be a culprit? If you remove an upstream O2 sensor, it will allow enough exhaust release that you should feel a difference. Here is a link that explains symptoms:

Here is a link that shows how to check one. In the link, it recommends removing the converter. However, if you remove a sensor like I mentioned, you would feel a difference if this is the issue.

Let me know.

Thank you. I will check it out in the morning. Only been to Pittsburgh a couple of times, great views when flying in. Nothing like Pittsburgh vs Dallas football back in the day. Had the privilege to meet Mr. Bradshaw. Great guy! Funny as heck!

Loved his story on how Dallas started the "shotgun". Apparently, the Dallas center saw Stauback walk in the first day and said. I don't want that man's hands any where near me. LOL

Back to vehicle topic. I do believe that I have a cracked exhaust manifold before this happened. Do you think any correlation is possible?

Thanks again for your insight.
