It stopped accelerating as if it was in neutral?

On my way home from work I had it in cruise then all of a sudden it stopped accelerating as if it was in neutral. I stopped and pulled over turned it off then tried tried going but it just revs up and goes nowhere even in reverse.

Have a trans guy look at it, may be time for a rebuild.

Or, or check the transmission fluid level because if it is low it can cause this issue, also of the fluid filter falls out of the front pump it will suck air and cause the car not to go into gear at all. Here is a guide to check out along with images below, please go over them.
