1996 Nissan Maxima 6 cyl Automatic 79,000 miles

hi. I have a 1996 Nissan Maxima with the original super low miles of 78k. I have had it for about 6-7 years but never registered it & it's just sitting in the garage. I start the car every now & then and let it run for a while, anyways, the problem I am describing came with the car when I bought it and 3 ok/good mechanics havent been able to do anything.
if you want to start the car in the morning or after its been sitting there for a while, you have to crank it for about 5-10 seconds while you are pumping the gas pedal. When it starts, it runs great. If you shut of the engine and try to start it again let say within 45 minutes, it starts right up but the longer it sits the longer it takes to start it back up again. & It never gets any worse than 5-10 seconds no matter how long it sits there in the garage.
I cant remember what the mechanic shops tried or checked but it is a very unusual case I guess. Any idea? Thnx

Hi in trouble,

Symptoms indicates a possible fuel pressure drop.

Before starting engine, turn ignition switch to On for 2 seconds and off. Repeat process another 2 times and try starting.

If it is easy to start, you have a fuel pressure drop and it could be a bad fuel pressure regulator or there is a leakage between the fuel pump and the pressure rail. If no external leaks are noted, it could be the intank fuel pump hoses.
