The car will crank and start, but makes a terrible squeal and then shuts off after a few seconds. The car has had both the crankshaft and camshaft position sensors replaced, the valve cover gaskets and the intake manifold gasket, the breather hoses and several vacuum lines (they were pretty beaten). The battery, alternator, and starter were replaced back in December, the spark plugs in January, and the fuel pump was replaced in March. Just before it broke down last month it broke a serpentine belt on the highway but was able to run long enough to get home. Have not been able to get it to stay running long enough to go get the codes run on the CEL. Serpentine belt was replaced but I am out of ideas on what to check next. All fuses and relays check out.

Sounds like you have a belt drive component that has frozen, probably the air conditioner compressor. Remove the belt and spin each pulley by hand, including the end part of the compressor, not just the pulley.
