Best option is to replace the bad part. On some of them you can rebuild the lock by replacing bad springs or switches. I believe this one used a switch on the actuator or the actual lock cylinder to tell the anti-theft the lock status. But it does more than just locked/unlocked depending on how the system is armed and the actual door status, IE its one signal with the door opened and locked prior to closing, a different signal when the door is closed and locked and a combination of them when someone tampers with the lock.
