I have a toyota landcruiser with a mitsubishi 4DR5 diesel engine, maybe 1990's. Why do I have a very black smoke in my exhaust, everytime I start it, and when it runs. I have already calibrated the injection pump, changed the fuel filter and engine oil. I still get the black smoke. What do you think are the other causes? And how do I fix it? Tnx

H I there,

Black smoke is over fueling. Have the injectors checked, was the pump calibration done by a diesel work shop? If not get it checked as the over fueling will cause detonation and you will break a piston.
