Flag” may be sent along with the regular (unlabeled) trouble codes. The computer sends Information Flags to help you find the cause of a trouble code. Interestingly, the cause of a flag will not turn on the check engine light, so it comes on specific to the codes that turned it on and it could be related to. In this case, the 26 indicates the TCC is stuck on, so you can see how the flags can be related. Without physically checking wiring to and at the TCC, I have to assume that there is a short to power which is constantly feeding power to the TCC.
I attached 4 pics below. The idea that codes 26 has turned on the light, all the flags are for is indicating what is listed in pics 3 and 4 can be the cause. Without a scanner, you can't check if flags exist. Ugh! We need you to get your hands on an OBD1 scanner.
Interestingly, everything is tied into the TCC. Without the scanner, the best we can do is check wiring.
I hope this makes sense. Let me know.
