This broken/ stretched and broken wire issue found in the door's wire loom (rubber boot) has haunted many. The biggest headache was figuring it out and locating it in most cases.
Seems that you too have stumbled upon this post which has helped cut down on lots of hair pulling outages.
The right tools and parts might make this a pretty easy fix for a mechanical/electrical minded person.
I am going make two possible suggestions where you might seek some inexpensive help.
1) Local Jeep Club- They are always tearing into their stuff, might want to "show ouff" (show their skills) to a "helpless" gal! (lol!)
2) Local high school (yeah?)/ technical college (more preferred) automotive sciences shop (you know what I mean). Many times they will work you in for the cost of parts (probably minimal if it is a broken wire in the boot) and sometimes they ask for a "donation" for the service to help out the school. The tech school shop here wanted a whopping $25.00 donation after repairing an acquaintances vehicle. Things may vary depending on your location.
I am going throw in a third possibility, probably more expensive, but us Jeep people want things right! So this is the only way I can "anywhere" find "anyone" a decent/reasonable/ quality mechanic. To heck with all of that five star political/ survey junk filled out by people who cannot even pull their dipstick! My method puts you in touch with a "neutral" and experienced automotive industry kind of guy!
I try to send people to an inexpensive, but decent shop. I can kind of recommend a shop might near anywhere in the U.S. just by sending you to an experienced "car guy" who does not mind helping you at all to find that "special shop" whereas you might trust and grow dependent on in future years.
