There is an air condition leak in the system since we had it recharged two months ago, and the AC is now dead.. Does the front dash have to be pulled in order to repair the leak. If so, why would the problem be buried behind the dash. I would think that it should be approachable in the engine compartment area. There has been some comment as to this by the mechanic.

The reason it's difficult to reach is most automitive engineers NEVER have to work on cars! If the mechanic said it's the evaperator core, then some dash dissassembly will be needed. Usually repairs of this type run about 1000.00 or so!
