Local service shop performed freon charge with die. They detected hose repaired required. Did that work. A/C has failed again. They now suspect the evaporator. Hence the question: Does it make sense that a Car's A/C system could have multiple leaks at the same time? Their action and current diagnostic would suggest so.

They could have been wrong about their diagnosis then and could be wrong again now. A/C is a specialized talent and should only be repaired by people that do an extensive amount of A/C repairs. Leaks can be difficult to pinpoint unless highly experienced.

As wrenchtech said, it is best left to pros in this area. The evap is easy to detect with the dye as you check the water that drains when charged for the dye. That will identify the leak, if it is there. I would look more at the condenser as it is exposed to everything.
