I have a '97 Honda Pasport, 122,000 Miles, 3.2L V6 Engine, Automatic Transmission, 4WD.
I have been working for the past several weeks on this vehicle trying to solve a problem with the engine "Cutting Out / Stumbling" under load. The vehicle will idle normally and rev up with no hesitation under no load, but if you are accelerating from a stop the engine will cut out and in creating a sort of jerking sensation. If you accelerate verry slowly however there is no problem, and once you get moving you can drive at any speed and accelerate normally.
I took this car to a shop and they told me that it needed an Ignigition control module, and that this part was no longer available and they could not fix the vehicle. I drove the car home (very slowly accelerating the whole way) and parked it in untill I found an ignigtion control module at a Junk Yard (This module has been discontinued by the manufacture, and is not available new). I replaced this part, and the problem is exactly the same. I therfore assume that the $300.00 I spent for the repair shop to diagose the problem was a waste of money unless the 2 ICM's have the exact same problem. (Not Likely in my opinion)
I have checked to see if any codes are present, and everything reads clear.
I have since replaced the Fuel Filter, spark plugs & MAP sensor, all with no effect.
I also Replacerd the PCV Valve while I was replacing the valve cover gaskets which were laeking like a sive.
I have also tried disconnecting diffrent sensors one at a time to get the car to go into "Limp Home Mode" and nothing has any effect on this problem, other than causing the Check Engine Light to come on untill I reconect the sensor and clear the codes. So far I have tried disconnecting the EGR Valve, TPS & MAF Sensor and nome of them seem to have any effect on the condition I am having. I have also looked / Lisetened for any Vacume leaks and havn't found anything.
I can duplicate this problem every time by just putting my foot on the brake and then stepping on the gas while the car is in drive. I also tried the same thing in reverse, and there is no problem, so I really don't know what to try next. I don't understand why the problem only occurs when the car is in drive.
Any help or advice you could give on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Michael N.C. Allen
