I've had this Honda Accord EX for over 7 years. Recently its decided to turned into a Vampire! If I leave the car in the sun for too long it will not start at all. When the sun goes down the car will start right up w/ no problems. I have to avoid the sun at all costs when I go shopping or have to park the car for more than an hour in the heat w/o shade. Can you please tell me what the problem could be? The machanics that we've been taking the car too I believe don't know there elbow from there you know what b/c they haven't been able to fix anything on my car for the past year. I don't have money to waste so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi E&JPowell,

Thank you for the donation.

This problem is mostly caused by the PGM-Fi main relay. Remove it and resolder the circuit board and it should be good again.

For all that to be done is it more than $100? Also what does the sun have to do w/ the PGM-fi Relay?

Such relays are known to have bad soldered joints and heat causes them to lose the contact thereby not providing the necessary power to work the fuel pump.

This is a common problem for Honda vehicles before 2000.
