WHILE HEADIN HOME from work car suddenly sputtered as if I was out of gas, but no 1/2 tank of gas. Pulled over and tried 2 restart, engine turns over, but wont fire. A friend came to help and after trying to start for him he said no fire to spark plugs, checked distributor cap and rotor, they are good, pulled sparkplug wire while I cranked car, no spark, pulled sparkplug wwire of coil no spark. My timing belt was replaced about 8-9 months ago not that. Will the igniter or top dead center/cylinder/crank angle sensor cause the car to cut off as if out of gas?

Hi Honda35,

Normally if any of the sensors were to fail, the MIL would show.

If power supply is present at distributor Black/Yellow wire, I suspect the ignition coil or ICM is faulty, unless the timing belt has given way.

Same symptom does not necessarily mean same cause.

Check the timing belt.
Test the coil.
Test distributor.
