1993 Honda Accord Not Quite Sure

1993 Honda Accord Front Wheel Drive Automatic

When I was driving last night all of a sudden it felt like my car went into neutral. About half the lights came on. I wasn't able to accelerate at all. I thought it might have been an oil issue, since there wasn't much in my car. But I put 3 qts. In and it didn't help. When I try to start it the car won't turn over and the exhaust sputters, but nothing comes out. There is no smoke or anything under the hood that seems unusual.

Any ideas?

Hi amyach,

Thank you for the donation.

Need to clarify the problem first before we can go into diagnostics.

1. What is the mileage on the vehicle?
2. You are able to crank the engine but it is not firing up?
3. Would you be able to do simple test such as checking for sparks etc?
4. Did the Check Engine Light show prior to this happening?

Non starting can be due to fuel, ignition or mechanical fault and we need to narrow it down.

Here is a link that shows you how to go about looking for causes that affect non starting. Look through the one that aptly describes your present situation and let me know what you find.

For further assistance, just reply to this post and I will get back to you asap.

I hope it is not a failed timing belt that is causing the problem.
