Well when I crawled up underneath it so I could be able to hear if it was coming on or not and had him try to start it and stop but leave the key on and I could hear it hum thou. But I dont know how long it had been sitting at the used car lot that before I bought it from them.
The truck does turns over and that's all it will do. I know the spark plugs and wires r good because I have changed them out myself.
But just in case if I have to get a new fuel pump for it. Would you know what the size of the fuel tank is. Cause all I have been able to find out that it 26-35 gallon tank but doesn't tell me exactly what mine is. I dont have a manual for it. So I downloaded one for a 2001 dodge ram 1500 v8 magnum and it has 2 different diagrams showing a 26 gallon and a 35 gallon tank. But with different pictures of fuel pumps.
But this picture of the fuel pump looks like the one that is on it

Okay. Couple things. We need to start with confirming this is a fuel issue by using starting fluid in the intake and see if the engine fires. If it does then we need to measure fuel pressure to confirm the pump is the issue. Just because you can hear it coming on doesn't mean it is supplying pressure.

Here are some guides that will help with this:

Lastly if you provide me the last eight of your VIN, I can provide you the specifics about your truck and how it is equipped.
