Hi,

I have a 2002 Buick Regal that is currently locked in the park gear. It has been making a humming sound (like a plane or go kart) and just a few days ago I started it up but it would not move from the park gear. I tried the shift release lock and that did not work. Please advise.

A lot of vehicles require your foot ot be on the brake pedal to put the transmission in gear. The brake light switch is what links the two. Check the fuse for the brake lights and the switch itself.

Good luck and let us know. :)
