Fuel System?

Happy Friday to you as well.

As far as the pressure, 3-6 psi should be okay. That leaves either the float is set too high, or the needle and seat is worn. Either of these two things would have to be minimal/slightly out of adjustment or worn since the issue is at idle.

Have you had the carb apart for inspection?

Hi Joe, hope you're having nothing less than an awesome weekend.

No sir, I haven't. Would this also account for her refusal to be driven?

What happens when you try driving it? If it is getting too much fuel, certainly it won't run properly.

Let me know.

She stutters moving but shuts off when I let off the gas. She does fire right back up though.

Do you ever notice any dark gray or black smoke from the exhaust? Does it smell like it is running rich?

Haven't noticed any smoke. The only time she starts to smells rich is when I just crank her and let her run.

Hi,

I'm near Pittsburgh. As far as the rich smell when it idles, I would have to say checking the carb, float, needle and seat, and simply making sure there is nothing causing anything to hang up or allow too much fuel to enter the float bowl.

That is where I would have to start.

Ah, okay. Just curious how close you were. I know that hands on makes a big difference when trying to troubleshoot.
I will give the carb a thrice over and see what I can see.

Merry hump day, Joe. Hope life is treating you well. I finally worked on my carburetor, and she may be out of the flood zone. However, when I put her in gear, she gets upset. Runs very rough.

Thanks for all your help.

Hi,

If I was of any help, you are very welcome. Is the idle still an issue?

Let me know.

Hello, you have always been extremely helpful, and I am beyond grateful. I apologize if I made it seem otherwise.

I removed the carburetor, checked the float, replaced the needle and gaskets, and cleaned everything. Not necessarily in that order.

Just sitting, she seems ok. I should probably let her sit at idle a bit longer to make sure that issue has been rectified. When I put her in gear, she starts to shake for lack of a better term.

Totally Clueless,
Greg

Hi,

You never made me feel that way. However, you did all the work. LOL As far as the shaking, is the choke fully opening when the engine is warm?
