horn won't work

ford XR3i - 1989 - 90 000 miles
the horn was super sensitive and would sound when my sleeve brushed over it and now it won't depress in or make a sound there is nothing in my manual for fhe steering wheel side of things, could anyone help out a damsel in distress?

There are a few things to look at. Fuse first, then under the hood check the wiring to the horn and check the ground. If it is a one wire horn the unit itself must be grounded and grounded cleanly. After that you can try a wiring short cut from the battery to the horn to get it to beep. This would serve as a test to see if the ground is good and that the horn itself is working. If you get the horn to honk then all of the problems will located in the steering wheel. Switch, wiring, etc.
