2003 Ford Explorer, 6 cylinder XLT automatic 45,000 miles

My blinker is flashing fast inside the car and not showing on the tail light. I purchased the replacement bulb but can not see how to replace it. There are no panels on the inside of the truck and nothing under the bumper. Please tell me how to replace the bulb.

Open the liftgate and you will see two screws that undo the lens.
