'98 Ford Explorer sport battery, alarm or turn signal relay

'98 ford explorer sport 170k stick 2wheel clicking under dash near pedals battery completely drained wont start right off when try to start during charging alarm goes off but not strong changed battery lately. When disconnecting or doing anything with battery cables alarm goes off. No starting powercame out one morning didnt start tried charging didnt work switched batteries it started. Drove for a while and to work left work went to gas station wouldnt restart jumped it. Got home cut it off wouldnt restart alarm went off. Constant clicking by pedals. Whats going on?

Are you currently yousing the alarm and if so dose it have a kill switch. The clicking may be the alarms relay box or the relay(s) that your alarm is installed to. Look up under the dash for a black or clear and black box that has harness wires ran to it, once you see it start the car while looking at it then turn the car off listen at the box for the clicking sound. If no sound is present then its your relay mor then likely the one ran into the lighting system (head lights, dome lites etc.

Let me know because the next step may be to just diconnect the alarm system all together. Alarm system normally do not last the life of the car. May be time for a new one.
