2005 Ford Escape something catching sometimes when I stop

I have been having some problems with something that feels and sounds like something is catching when I stop. It doesn't happen everytime, just every now and then. I had someone check my brakes and they said that they look fine and so do the rotors. It make a noise when it does it and sounds like it is eating my tires or something.

Have the u-joints and CV joints been checked?
