1996 Ford Bronco Starts, Idles - Great! .... HELP!!

manual, 302, .... Starts, idles great..... very sluggish in the get up and go from 1st to 2nd, well all gears..... It will be very sluggish when you hammer down on the gas..... but after it hits a certain RPM it seems like it has a power band and then has a lot of torque in the high rpm.... happens when its cold or hot.... changed plugs, wires, fuel filter, all of that seemed to have a slight affect on it, but overall still is there...... Don't really think its a sensor because of the cold hot factor.... thinking bout clogged injecters or something with fuel.....

When was the last tune up with a fuel filter?

I just bought the truck thinking that it just needed the usual plugs, wires, filters and it would be good to go....

So if I would have to guess on the fuel filter, I would have to say maybe never..... I tipped out the fuel from the old fuel filter when I changed it out, the fuel wasn't really fuel at all. It was more like black grit that smelled like gas. I was pretty shocked to see that....

Did you check fuel pump pressure?

I haven't checked pressure, what should I be looking for PSI wise..... plus, how do I go about doing that???

pressure should be 30 to 45 psi (key on engine off)
