Car stalls after removing the negative terminal off

The EACV and throttle body needs cleaning and the idling speed adjusted.

1995 Honda Accord 295000 miles

So, I was having a problem with my 95 Honda Accord dropping it's RPM to zero and simply stalling out. It would start right back up after about 30 seconds, but the engine would completely stop and the lights and ac would stay on.

I took it to the mechanic and he called me this morning and said that I had a broken air induction tube and that he thinks that's why it's been dying.

Does anyone know if this sounds right? Would a break in an air induction tube cause my car to intermittently die and start again? Any help would be much appreciated.I just want to make sure I'm not paying for something that won't fix anything.

Hi BB89,

The air induction pipe is the hose between the air cleaner and the throttle body and it is not the cause of the stalling. Honda does not use a MAF and instead uses a MAP sensor.

Get the throttle body and IAC cleaned and readjust the idling speed and retest.

After our car died everything was checked then a new computer was put in. But since then it idles too high, it keeps stalling out. The longer you drive it the more it stalls. We keep bringing it back and they keep saying there is nothing else they can do it's much better now. Then we drive it and it's worse the more it's driven. Please help!

First eliminate all vacuum or air leaks in the system. You may have a bad IAC ( idle air control) but try cleaning the throttle body first. Remove the intake snorkel, have someone hold the throttle wide open for you and scrub the back side of the throttle plate and surrounding bore with an old tooth brush and some carb cleaner. Be sure to spray some into the small holes next to the throttle plate. That should help stabilize the idle. If it still has a problem, replace the IAC.

I have a Honda Accord 1995 with 171,000 miles. The check engine light comes and D4 blinks then the engine dies after few minutes. I took the car to the dealer. They pulled code P014 on transmission for
faulty wiring connection. They said that wiring test and volt testing required for diagnosis, Can you please tell me what the problem could be?

I inspected the wiring harnesses in the area around and under the transmission. They all looked ok.
The RPM was low. I did tune-up and replaced the valve cover gasket because it was leaking. The rpm is back to noraml. When I get the check engine light and D4 bilnks the RPM gets low below 500 if the AC is on then the engine dies.

Visually inspect the wiring harnesses in the area around and under the transmission for damage. There is no code P014. You are missing a digit.
