I was driving the truck with no problems at all. Suddenly when I try to start it next morning it won't start. I can hear the fuel pump working, check my battery. Engine rotates but won't start(rotates slowly). What can be the problem? No spark plug? Or something is wrong with the engine that is rotating slowly?

Since the engine is turning slowly, I need you to remove the battery, fully charge it, and have it load tested at a local parts store.

Let me know what you find so we can move to the next step.

I have warranty on my battery from Walmart. I went there they have test it and told me that the battery is good.
Maybe I should go to Autozone or something like that?

If the battery is good, then you need to make sure the battery terminals are clean and tight, and the ground to the engine block is clean and tight. I would recommend if they are, take the truck to auto zone and have them check the draw from the starter. It may be bad.

Let me know what you find.

I can't take it to autozone because the truck won't start. Can I just pull out the starter and take it to them? Is the solenoid coming out together with starter?

Thanks for your help

Yes, you can take the starter. Make sure to disconnect the battery before working on it. They can bench test it for you and determine if it is drawing too many amps. Also, make sure all wiring looks good. If it was drawing too many amps, it could have overheated the wiring.

Okay. Is it hard to remove the starter? Which store is better? AutoZOne or O'Reilly auto parts? I will try to do it tonight. Is there any other part that can cause the engine to rotate slowly?

The only thing I can say would be a bad connection between the battery and the starter, a bad cable, corroded bround or battery terminals. As far as a slow cranking, it could be any of the items I listed.

Wow! That was a cheap easy fix. I'm glad that is all it was. However, I'm confused how it caused the engine to crank slowly. Regardless, I'm glad it's fixed.

Let us know if you have questions in the future and thanks for using 2carpros. Com
