1984 Dodge 600. Won't start!

OK, so only problem here is I'm not entirely sure of the mileage, but it's been sitting for awhile, though the interior is still in excellent condition. The engine says "Mitsubishi" on it, so i'm assuming it's the 2.6L.

We've replaced the ignition module and battery, and the only way the car will start is when we open up the carburetor and pour gas directly into it, and then it won't stay running for longer than a few seconds.

Have checked the fuel lines to the carburetor, and it seems that it's getting TO the carburetor, but isn't getting THROUGH. So, for some reason, the engine doesn't seem to be getting any gas.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? I would really like to figure it out and finish all the little things so the car can get on the road!

Thanks in advance!

I would suggest that you have the carb rebuilt because like the other dude said its probable gummed up
the only way you will keep that car running is too replace the carb or have it rerbuilt becauce its fouled up with gunk putting fuel stabilizer will do nothing for you
i would drain the tank completely dry and also put a high octane gas in it at first
