Crankshaft position sensor location for replacement please?

I attached an exploded view of the engine block and it shows the crank sensor location. I circled it in red just in case.

No. That was the only view that they gave in the shop manual to show where it is located. However, I didn't think to look at the replacement procedure. Here is a different view. Looks like it is behind the exhaust pipe on the side of the engine block.

I attached the info for the CKP sensor. There is only one so you just need to access it by removing part of the exhaust. Let me know if you have questions. Thanks

Sorry for the delay. Yes. That is very common to have to remove one of the wheels to access it on engines with transaxles.

The GM part number for the crank sensor on that engine is GM# 12598208 it is the one in the image. The part number you have (10456568) is the transmission output speed sensor. The crank position sensor is on the firewall side of the engine, just above the oil pan lip and in line with the exhaust outlet on the manifold. To get to it you go under the car, then unplug the sensor, remove it and reverse the process to install the new one. They have a habit of sticking in the block so you may want to remove it with a warm engine and gently work it out of the bore.
Once replaced you need to use a scan tool to do a CKP relearn procedure so the ECM knows the signal levels of the new sensor.

The crank sensor is behind the right exhaust manifold. The manifold needs to be removed to gain access to the sensor.

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Remove the right exhaust manifold.
2. Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor electrical connector (1).

Important: Clean the area around the CKP before removal in order to avoid debris from entering the engine.

3. Remove the CKP sensor bolt.
4. Remove the CKP sensor.

Right manifold

1. Remove the engine sight shield.
2. Remove the spark plugs.
3. Remove the exhaust crossover pipe nuts from the right exhaust manifold.
4. Disconnect the catalytic converter from the exhaust manifold.
5. Support the catalytic convertor and exhaust system with the mechanics wire.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Remove the ignition coil.
8. Remove the O2 sensors.
