Constant fuel pressure on passenger side fuel line

First off let me say thank you Roy. What a great website this is! To answer questions from total strangers and include wire diagrams, proper procedures, and expert insight is absolutely amazing.

I completed the project today and the issue I was having was excess fuel in the rails and fuel line even after getting the car to stall without a fuel pump plugged into power.

I changed a gasket 2 weeks ago in an attempt to stop the gas smell and leak on top of the passenger side fuel pump unit and didn't have the issue of excess fuel spurting out the fuel line when disconnected from the top of the passenger side fuel pump unit.

The only difference was that the engine was completely cold when I attempted this 2 weeks ago and was hot/warm when attempting it today and yesterday.

Be warned when removing that fuel line on a hot engine the fuel pressure is much greater and the temp of the gas is much hotter and be ready for 3 to 4 cups of spurting gasoline. Luckily I waited about an hour to an hour and a half to attempt this again today which made the pressure high and the gas temp only warm.

Started the car and all seems well next is freeway driving to make sure everything is good and hopefully, the new unit won't leak with the second new gasket and plastic pump part in place.

Thanks again Roy!
