I have a 96 Chrysler Cirrus LXi and it has 125K miles. It has a V6 and the problem is when using cruise control it will work fine for about 20 to 30 minutes and then the transmission seems to go into neutral without any movement on the shift lever and the motor rpms go way up. Any ideas?

Thanks

Does the check engine light come on when this happens? If it does, have the PCM scanned for codes.

That is going to be something in the trans, I cannot find where the cruise would have any effect on the trans operation in my wiring diagrams. No Tech Service Bulletins or recalls that I can find either.
