battery light

2000 Chrysler Cirrus LXI, 65,000 mi.
About 2 mos ago my wife noticed the battery light was on. When she got home she shut it down, restarted and light went away. Last month light came on again this time stayed on several days till I got home and when I started the car the light was out. This time light on again and it's been 3 days. I'm just hoping it'll wait till I get home. Any ideas?

when was the last time you replaced the battery or charged it? also check the battery conncetions, or it could be altenator time. just call autozone and ask them.

I changed the battery about 2 yrs ago. And the light just went out. If it was the battery or altenator why would the light be on intermittant

i would reccommend checking the alternator belt if you have already gone through all the connections it could just be the the belt is slipping more sometimes than others....good luck :)


ps. make sure your grounding from the battery to the frame is clean and secure
